Give this one day to thanks

We give-away our thanks to the earth which gives us our home.
We give-away our thanks to the rivers and lakes which give-away their water.
We give-away our thanks to the trees which give-away fruit and nuts.
We give-away our thanks to the wind which brings rain to water the plants.
We give-away our thanks to the sun who gives-away warmth and light.
All beings on earth: the trees, the animals, the wind and the rivers give-away to one another so all is in balance.
We give-away our promise to begin to learn how to stay in balance with all the earth. - Iroquois Prayer (adapted)

If only we could all strive to understand and reach that balance. Thanks for encouraging us all to think and be thankful.

Lovely prayer. I like it.
The Native people understood their connection to the earth. They still do. They knew the earth gives. The gifts do not need to be ripped and stolen.
Happy Day for being Thankful for what we have here,

You have a knack for portraying what we love to hear. Happy Thanksgiving, Laura.

This is a fine bit to post for Thanksgiving- thank you! The kitchen scene below looks inviting to me; now, in the wee hours of theday after, mine still looks a mess with the final batch of dishes waiting to be done. I bet the scraps are adequate compensation to the bunnies for the short lack of attention. Millie, our little whistle pig, gives many thanks for the surplus of veggies that come her way with big holiday meals.

Enjoy the rest of your long weekend- I hope our unseasonably good weather moves East to your neck of the woods- it's been fine for getting out and about.
