Anyone else having a hurricane party today? Any good beach plum jelly recipes to share? Stories? Storm jokes?

I don't have any jelly recipes....
But a joke? Okay!
"So, this storm walks into a bar..."
Mmmmm... beach plum jelly! My daughter brings it to me from someone who works with her at the library.
Glad you got that great ocean picture
OK, so a storm front, a low pressure system, and a Noreaster were in an airplane...
Did you pack socks?

Stay safe from the storm. Lovely picture. When it's over, I'm sure you will be out there to see what washed up. And to grab any remaining plums.
So post-tropical storm Hannah has moved through here in the last 12 hours. It was mostly a rain event with no wind to speak of. There is a small lake in the backyard now.
Nigella Lawson in "How to be a Domestic Goddess" has a recipe for Pickled Plums that looks interesting. I think that I am going to try it with some of the plums from the tree in the backyard. It might be something nice to have around for the Christmas season.

And just make sure everything is clean when makein the jelly .

Hope all is well with you & yours Laura.
No recipes, no jokes.
And no real storm stories. We got some rain--enough to green things up again. Trees were losing leaves early because we had no rain all August. During the rain, there was a power blip--but lights stayed on. However, tonight we discovered our pool pump had flipped a breaker switch and had been off all day. No harm done, just a small aftermath of Hanna's trip through central PA.
HA! Hanna thumbed her nose at us.
So there was this Republican Hurricane and this Democrat Hurricane and ....
