A sullen mostly overcast day, but the gray winter world was made beautiful with the dazzle of sun on last summer's goldenrod and fluffy cushions of white in the forks of trees as black as ink.*End of weather report*

It is beautiful, indeed. There is something so calm and quieting about winter days like that.
Even in the midst of winter, the greys and muted tones take on wondrous beauty. A very soft subtle beauty.
