Of all the crazy places I've been birding... sewerage treatment facilities, nuclear power plants, landfills... this takes the cake, I think.;-)
And mostly we were looking for wildflowers.
(And not ever in the target range, at least I don't think so!)

I'll bet birding there was a real blast.
I wouldn't do the Lifer Wiggle there. They might think you are some succulent crane to shoot.

Well, there was that time at Whitesbog where we wound up on the military base, and people were actually shooting, albeit not at us ...
