Phalaenopsis "Brother Digger"

If you are not killing plants, you are not really stretching yourself as a gardener. - J.C. Raulston

The orchid I bought a few weeks ago is still alive and blooming beautifully. I haven't killed it yet. I took this photo today so that I have something to remember it by when it dies. I'm stretching myself, but fear orchids are out of my league.

I bought an orchid for a friend about a year ago, and all he did was water it once a week, and it is in bloom again.
I think sometimes people kill orchids with kindness. Maybe less is more?
Yours is beautiful. I hope it lasts and lasts.

My mother-in-lay used to raise orchids - She said they were very easy if you just paid attention to the needs of the specific variety. Hope you find success in nurturing this lovely flower.

I'm watering them just once a week. Light is a problem, though. South-facing windows get too much sun, I think. North-facing was suggested (if I remember right) but that means this pretty plant has to live in my kitchen. I'm keeping it in a southwest window for now.
