Waiting in the rain

At least one Osprey is back, and looking lonely, at Sandy Hook.

Awww. Lonely, dark, and damp. That's a very moody photo. Won't be lonely for long!

Cool photo.
We have friends who spend part of the summer at Thousand Islands in up-state NY. When they take us out on the St. Lawrence River, they point out the osprey nests.

Is that a special platform for the nest? I have seen osprey nests near Gananoque,Ontario, which is on the Canadian side of the Thousand Islands mentioned by KGMom.

Oh, what a glorious photo Laura! I am sure it won't take long for that nest to be really busy!

Beautiful! This reminds me that in the fall I was sitting by a large pond with a non birder friend and an osprey flew over. I freaked out because here we were in the city and an osprey was overhead. My friend had no idea what the big deal was.

What a great photo, Laura. I don't get to see Osprey as much I would like. In my perfect world, an osprey would fly low over my yard everyday!

Hang in there, big guy. That's a fine nest you have there, and a female will be along soon for some lovin'!
